Kentaa Benchmark – the Kentaa platform in 2020

How high was the average donation on the Kentaa platform in 2020? Which social share button had the highest revenue? How much did the average fundraiser raise? Every year, we look at statistics of our platforms across the line: all Crowdfunding, Peer-to-Peer and Event Fundraising websites combined.

The numbers are unmistakably marked by covid-19. In the first six months of the year, Fundraising Events were cancelled, resulting in a dip in overall revenue and averages for fundraisers and teams. The sector proved inventive, however, as alternative events launched in the second half of 2020. Stay-at-home challenges quickly became the new standard. Crowdfunding initiatives (mostly for medical research and patient care) popped up like daisies.

People who start fundraisers on our platforms have the option to donate to their own page to set the right example. We saw an increase in these 'self-donations' compared to previous years, a heartwarming gesture to the charities they support.

Looking at the devices people use to visit our platforms and to donate, mobile devices are the obvious frontrunners. 77% of all donations in 2020 were made on a mobile device, a 5% increase from 2019. The general rule remains, the larger the device, the higher the donation.
