A Peer-to-Peer program is an import part of the fundraising mix. A good platform is essential: you want to make the process of supporters hitting their targets as easy as possible. The challenge begins once a supporter starts their fundraising page. How do you keep your supporters going? In the first part of this article, we'll provide you with three tips.

1. Provide examples for your supporters

Some supporters have a concrete plan for their fundraiser. They know why they want to support your organisation and how they're going to do it. Others don't have such a clear vision. That's why it's helpful to make a page on the platform with examples for fundraisers.

Here are a few examples:

  •       Donate your birthday, marriage, graduation, etc. Instead of gifts, you can ask people to donate to your fundraising page.
  •       A fitness challenge. A sports challenge is a great way to raise money, for example, running a marathon.
  •       A personal challenge. Do you want to quit smoking? People can support you by donating to your fundraising page.
  •       A benefit dinner/BBQ/party. A great way to raise money is to invite people for a fun event and ask for an entry fee for charity.

You can also inspire people by showing creative/successful fundraisers from other supporters.

2. Provide sponsor materials

An online fundraising page is a basis for every fundraiser on your platform. That's why the layout is fundamental. A clear motivation and beautiful imagery make a powerful contribution. Spreading a personal fundraising page is just as essential to raise money. Help your supporters by providing them with sponsor materials. Include online content like shareable graphics for social media, example articles for the local press, printable sponsor forms and posters. And offline materials (pins, buttons and T-shirts, etc.). Physical gifts cost money but can motivate supporters even more. Physical rewards/merch can be an excellent way for people to generate more awareness for your cause. When a team participates in a sporting event, for example.

3. Be there for you supporters, but use your time wisely

Help supporters find donors. Providing sponsor materials is the first step. You can also give your supporters tips & tricks, challenges and help them to raise more donations. Personal guidance for every supporter takes up a lot of time. It's more effective when supporters can help themselves. Make an easy accessible tips & tricks page for all your supporters. If you are receiving the same questions often, make an FAQ page.

Email remains a great way to approach multiple supporters at once. Distinguish your supporters by their fundraising phase. You can base this on the moment of registration, how much money they have raised, or the percentage raised of their target amount. You can give more specific and concrete tips without approaching everyone individually.
